Infrastructure Initiatives

• Renewed Hope Solarization Project at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH): A 7 MW solar power plant (approx. ₦12 billion) established at AKTH, flagged off Sept 2025 and currently being installed (ongoing).
  • Ensures uninterrupted power for critical medical services (recent power outages at AKTH underscore its importance).
• AKTH Accident & Emergency Complex Upgrade: Facilitated construction of a new five-storey Accident & Emergency & Trauma Center at AKTH (ongoing).
• ₦26 billion 2025 Budget Allocation for AKTH: Covers new A&E, stroke center, radiology, and family medicine units.
• Road Improvements in Bichi: Asphalting and rehabilitation of major roads in Bichi Federal Constituency (ongoing). For example, a recent review noted major constituency roads under upgrade.
• Federal University Solar Projects: Advocated federal solarization of campuses: FG set aside ₦300 billion in 2025 for solar power in teaching hospitals/universities. AKTH will get ~6–7 MW, BUK 5–6 MW, and other Kano hospitals also solarized (scheduled).
